Tanzania-U.S. Business Collaboration Reaches New Heights
On September 20, 2024, in Baltimore, an important gathering took place, uniting key leaders from the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), the United Republic of Tanzania’s Export Processing Zones Authority, the Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (ZNCCIA), Precision Air Tanzania, and AsamOil Company Limited. This significant meeting with Maryland's Secretary of Commerce, Kevin Anderson, paved the way for new business opportunities and strengthened trade relations between Tanzania and the U.S.
Notable attendees included Ambassador John Ulanga, Director of International Trade and Economic Diplomacy, Said Nyenge from the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania, Linda Meshack Loomu and John Mnali from the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC). Also present were CEOs Azhad Soud Abdulrahim and Suleiman Soud Al-Busaid of AsamOil Company Limited, Patrick Mwanri and Vincent Shirima of Precision Air Tanzania, Hamad Hamad from the Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (ZNCCIA), and Nakadongo Ngomuo from the Tanzania Export Processing Zones Authority.
From the U.S. side, the event was graced by Ronda Pierce and Karl Cureton from the Tanzanian American Chamber of Commerce, Jahaan J. of Citi, Dr. Soyini A. Richards, Ph.D., representing ZANSTRASAT, LLC, Gabriel Christian of Avdyne Aeroservices, LLC, and Sherman Davis of Futech Engineering Solutions, LLC—all key players in aviation and aeronautical innovation.
A highlight of the event was a tour of Charm City Meadworks in Baltimore, where mead (honey wine) is crafted using honey sourced directly from Tanzania.
This meeting marks a major milestone in strengthening the bond between the two nations.
