Landmark $320 Million Agreement to Empower SMEs and Women Entrepreneurs in Tanzania

 

The signing of a significant $320 million agreement between Citi, CRDB Bank Plc, and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation marked a major milestone. This landmark deal is strategically designed to empower approximately 4,500 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) across Tanzania.

In recognition of the transformative impact of women's economic participation, a substantial portion of the financing is specifically allocated for women-owned businesses, acknowledging that empowering women entrepreneurs generates a ripple effect of positive change throughout the broader economy.
