Levis Signature Stitched in Tanzania

 




Levis Signature is stitched in Tanzania with TOOKU Garments Co Ltd trading under U.S. Africa Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA).


Tooku is a private sector apparel company specializing in manufacturing of garments, jeans and knitwear for U.S brands. The annual production capacity stands at 8 million jeans.


Tooku is one of the recipients of USAID Africa Trade and Investment (ATI) program. Under this grant they will recruit and train 600 new workers by February 2025 and increase export by 20 percent ($7.7m) in the next 19 months.


In return these will trickle down to community, stimulate local businesses, such as food vendors amd transportation services, proving more income to the local community.
