TANZANIA'S ECONOMIC GROWTH

The World Bank reports that Tanzania's economy grew by 5.2% in 2023, surpassing the 4.6% growth seen in 2022. The primary contributor to this growth was the services sector, which expanded by 7.3%, while agriculture saw a 3.4% increase. Inflation pressures have also subsided, with headline CPI inflation decreasing from 4.9% in January 2023 to 3.0% in January 2024. Looking ahead, the World Bank forecasts that Tanzania’s economy will grow at approximately 6% in the medium term, bolstered by rising private investment.
